for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, 2002
Edition.
Requirements:

Candidates
shall
be at least 18 years of age.

The Fire Service Instructor I
examination includes portions of four (4) fire related subjects (4.2,
4.3, 4.4, and 4.5) requiring the successful completion of cognitive
(written) skill and manipulative (practical) skills. Written
examinations require 70% or greater overall average and manipulative
skill examinations are averaged together with the student receiving the
grade of "P" for passing if successful.

Instructor Classification –
Instructor I: A fire service instructor who has demonstrated the
knowledge and ability to deliver instruction effectively from a
prepared lesson plan, including instructional aids and evaluation
instruments; adapt lesson plans to the unique requirements of the
students authority having jurisdiction (AHJ); organize the learning
environment so that learning is maximized; and meet the record keeping
requirements of the AHJ.
