Description:
Fire Service Instructor III will demonstrated the knowledge and ability to develop and administer a training program, develop recommendations to policies and modifications to policies, select instructional staff to develop instruction material, construct evaluation system and monitor performance of instructional staff, write request for proposals to purchase equipment, conduct a task analysis for an agency and develop a curriculum based on that analysis, design programs and curricula, write course goals and objectives, develop course and instructor evaluation tools.
Requirements for Certification:
Candidates shall be at least 18 years of age
Practical Skill Test for Instructor III is accomplished by either submitting a Portfolio OR by the successful completion of two courses taught at the National Fire Academy: Fire Service Course Design and Training Program Management. Candidates using either method must submit complete documentation to support their application. Certification Advisory Committee must approve the Portfolio or the NFA method for completion of the practical skills component.
Complete an 100 question written examination with a passing score of 70% or higher
