Brenda S. Cashio was born and raised in Amite, Louisiana. Before moving to Baton Rouge, she was employed at a finance company in Hammond. Brenda attended Hammond Area Vocational School, receiving a certificate of completion in the secretarial curriculum. She started working for the State of Louisiana in June of 1978. Ms. Cashio has accumulated 28 years of state service, 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Education and the remaining 20 with Louisiana State University. At LSU Fire and Emergency Training, Brenda is responsible for travel reimbursements, risk management, and copier management, as well as textbook and promotional sales.
