Kenn Fontenot holds an associates degree in fire science from LSU-Eunice, and IFSAC certification in: Fire Fighter I & II, Officer I & II, Instructor I & II, Driver Operator-Pumping Apparatus, Hazmat Awareness and NREMT EMT-B.  He is also a certified instructor for the Phi Beta Kappa Leadership and Ethics program.  Kenn’s fire service experience includes serving as LeBlanc Volunteer Fire Department fire chief for 10 years.  He continues to serve there as an assistant chief.  Kenn is also currently serving as President of the LSFA, Life Member of the LFCA, NVFC state Director, Principal Member of NFPA 1001, 1002, 1003 and 1005 Professional Qualifications Committee, Professional Advisory Board-Division of Business and Technology at LSU-Eunice and Director of the Acadiana Fire CISM group.

Mr. Fontenot came to work at LSU FETI because he “wanted to make a difference in the fire service and felt that this could be accomplished through training and education.”   His full time employment started seven years ago.  Kenn worked the prior seven years as an adjunct instructor.  He currently provides training programs to career and volunteer fire departments in the field.
