Bobby Strozier graduated from Port Barre High School in 1967. He then attended Centenary College, majoring in general studies. Bobby later joined the US Navy in 1970, and attained the rank of Boatswains Mate Second Class. He spent 3 years on USS Surprise PG 97, a patrol gunboat, and finished his tour on USS Guam LPH 9.
Mr. Strozier has previously worked for Southern LP Gas, Cenla Propane, and as a truck driver owner operator. He was hired by FETI in 2003. Bobby served the Jena Volunteer Fire Department from 1984 to 1995 as training officer. He has served as chief since Eden Fellowship Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1995.
Bobby has developed training programs for fire departments on LP gas while working with Herring Gas. At LSU FETI, he works as a regional coordinator in the Northeast part of the state, delivering a wide range of courses, from essentials to NIMS. Bobby also delivers a LP gas class across the state, which includes a live burn with a portable tank.
