Michael Truax is the marine fire coordinator for Fire and Emergency Training.  His fire service experience was gained at a small town volunteer fire department in Livingston Parish.  Michael joined the department in the early 1980s as a cadet.  He progressed to the position of captain, and was a full-time member of the department for nearly ten years.  In 1992, he obtained his Instructor I certification and moved into the training field.  Michael was hired at FETI in 2004 as a full-time industrial coordinator working with the industrial program.

In 2006, Mr. Truax received his Instructor II certification and began teaching marine and helicopter landing officer courses for the industrial program.
