LSU FIRE AND EMERGENCY

TRAINING INSTITUTE

David has 20 years of experience in Emergency services. He was formerly a Firefighter/EMT for Mansura VFD and Hessmer VFD while working as a Fire & Safety Manager for a state prison with responsibility for the fire brigade. He then worked with Alexandria Fire Dept as a Fire Prevention Officer. In 2000, he began employment as a Special Investigator for a U.S. government contractor then ultimately came over to FETI in 01/2006.

David teaches in the Industrial Division and enjoys all of the challenges with industrial fire brigades. While recruit municipal firefighters undergo 14 weeks of intense basic training, David only has 5 days to get plant workers trained in the Industrial Fire School. Although firefighting is not the primary job for these people, in times of crisis they are the ones who save the plant.

David is a nationally registered and Louisiana state certified EMT-Basic and has an Associate degree from LSU-Eunice in Fire & Emergency Services. He has 15 LSU/IFSAC certifications along with completion on 11 levels of NIMS/ICS. David's advice is to learn all you can, when you can. It is to your benefit.
